Hello guys, hopefully I'm in the right form. While I'm driving I've been getting a loud vibration when accelerating over 1500 rpm and then once I let off the gas the rattle is there until it drops below 1500rpm. I'm thinking it's the u-joint but I don't have much experience. Thanks for any help!

 

I'd say ujoint or a tire out of balance, perhaps even carrier bearing if its an xcab. Test ujoing by grabbing the driveline and try to wiggle the joint by hand. You can also use a screwdriver wedged inside the joint to see if you can observe some play. There's youtube videos of how to check them too.

And it was.....

 

There's a bit of play in the ujoint but most of the noise is coming from the exhaust manifold... there are 3 screws holding it on, and the one at the back (couldn't see it) was gone so its just a rattling nightmare. Lesson learned to check the easy stuff first. Thanks for the help
