Windshield wipers come on when going through water

My windshield wipers keep coming on intermittently when I go through a water puddle. Not deep water. What is causing this? How can I fix it?

A problem well-stated is a problem almost solved.
What model escalade are you working with?
If first-gen 4Runner, inspect the wiper control relay in right side kick panel behind / above the ECU. Water from splashes may come into the cab through the opening in bulkhead for radio antenna if opening / grommet is not sealed well. A leak around windshield pinch weld may also cause water to drip there.

you could remove the wiper arms & wiper blades from your truck.
