Let me start by saying I'm new to forums so if I do something wrong SORRY.
I have owned and repaired 22re s for years but I'm at my WITS end with this one.
HERE WE GO.
I've got a 1990 toyota 4x4 22re. The issue is no power 1st gear is needed just to climb a small hill truck skips and idles really low. RUNS LIKE IT'S ONLY RUNNING ON 2CYL.

Things I have done ,checked timing, (used steps I found on this SITE NO ISSUES replaced TPS with used one (WILL BE RUNNING A TEST ON IT TOMORROW ) I also noticed there is no change if I unplug the TPS there is only a very small change in idling, checked wiring from TPS to ECU (no issues ) checked compression (no issues ).

Now for what previous owner did. Installed new injectors, new fuel filter, new wires and plugs, new coil,

Oh and I have two codes 41 and code 51. Also I bought the truck with this issue.
Any help would be great. Thanks

Here are the codes

Code 41 Throttle position circuit fault
Code 42 Vehicle speed sensor circuit
Code 43 No starter signal to the ecu
Code 51 AC signal on; DL contact off

You will need to get the codes cleared, especially 41. After you get it cleared, do a complete tune up with great quality parts, by the book, either a Factory Service Manual or Haynes Manual. I would not go by the previous owners word, you just never know.

Since you have worked on these before and it seems like it is only running on 2 cylinders, I would see if it is 1 and 3 cylinders or 2 and 4 cylinders as they share the same injector harness wiring. Toyota used wire crimps and they tend to corrode in some cases. They will pass a resistance check but still not allow enough voltage to pass to fire the injectors.

Find out which two cylinders may not be firing and then I would see if I am getting spark which would be the fire side and would be easiest to check. If I was getting spark, I would then check to see if I am getting fuel/ are the injectors firing, https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...t-22re-270857/

Here is what I went thru for not firing injectors https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...l#post51897320
