For those who manual swapped a 22RE 4x4...

I had a question regarding the flywheel and bell housing bolts. I remember reading they are the same as the flex plate and auto bell housing bolts. Now from my experience from manual swapping Supras and Cressidas they aren't the same.

I did some research on LCE's site on the bolt kits they offer. And it didn't specify if the flywheel bolts interchanged. It just listed them as compatible with the 22re.

I just picked up an 88 XtraCab 4x4 and I want to pull the auto out since I have mostly all of the parts already it's just the bolts I need to verify.

No flex plate bolts are much shorter.

With Flywheel bolts order then from the dealer There prices on hardware I think are reasonable.

Wyoming9 is right bolts are shorter some people will argue that the spacer on the flexplate takes up the difference but it doesn't. Just done this swap a year ago

Thank you for confirming this. I actually ended up accidentally stumbling upon a swap thread the night before where someone took a pic of the length differences.

87hoerunner, are the bell housing bolts lengths the same? The 4 main ones specifically?

Flywheel bolts are one of the few I put locktite on

Scary what a flywheel coming off can do to feet and legs.
