Location of Accessory Wire to tie in new deck

Hi all,

I added a BT deck in the glovebox but I'm having difficulty locating the accessory wire so the deck turns off when the vehicle is not in use.

Not really relevant to this post but here is the truck.

Thanks!

There should be a Light Blue w/ red stripe wire coming off of the main harness right behind the radio. That wire runs back to the ACC power on the ignition. If you can't find that then you can either run a new wire back to the ACC power or use another wire that has 12V with the ignition on and 0V with it off.

The only thing I see that resembles that is this:

I don't mind running a new wire if the above can't help me; I'm just not sure where to run it to.

Thanks,

Sean

That would be it. The blue/red wire is your ACC power (to turn on the radio when the ignition is on) and the greens are your speakers. If you are installing a modern radio then you'll need to run a wire (with inline fuse) to the battery for constant power.

That wire is dead so I just tied into the fuse panel. Works great.

Thanks!

cigarette lighter power lead is ignition switched. door courtesy light is always on(constant). I know you worked it out but if anyone else needs information. Short run to the cigarette lighter.

New naming issues

For the youngins, I believe the PC term is Power Port, with the correct part inserted though, it still lights cancer sticks of all types
Works with no key?? Not in my vehicles factory original,
but I have hooked most up manually to work all the time
out of general laziness
Have a great day!!!

Or you could play mad scientist and wire five "power ports" into the car directly from the battery and charge or light whatever you want whenever you want!

If your lighter is draining your battery, something is grounding out somewhere.
