91 3vze major oil leak from the headgasket?
So I'm bummed. I've had a small oil leak for a while and I thought it was valve cover gaskets but recently the leak got big. Like a steady drip after I turn off the truck for a few minutes. It amounts to maybe 1/4 cup. Not cool. So I just did the valve cover gaskets and the leak persists.
I think its the hg as it's coming from high on the drivers side. Anything else up there? I've never heard of just an oil leak from the hg. Truck runs great otherwise! Dammit. What should I do? Its a 1991 sr5.

If not, I can assure you that it WILL leak.

From searching pics online, I think there is an oil galley right at the back corner of the head/block. Just below the corner head bolt. It can't be too pressurized so the gasket must be completely gone there...

"High on the driver's side" DOES sound like a valve cover gasket, doesn't it? So the logical question is: Did you do the replacement correctly? Did you follow the manual? http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...68cylinder.pdf (page 80)
If not, I can assure you that it WILL leak.
