93 Toyota pickup auto trans problem!

I'm having trouble with my auto transmission after a drain, filter and gasket replacement and a refill. If got 7 quarts and a Lucas trans oil and still not showing up on dipstick. Goes in drive but doesn't take reverse. Any help is greatly appreciated. Do I need more fluid? What would be my next step to try out.

If you had done any sort of search before posting, you surely would have come across the suggestion to check for codes.

Well, here you go: http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...31diagnosi.pdf

This page is for an A340H, but it applies to all A340s. You didn't tell us which transmission you have (hint: it's listed on the door pillar).

i jus checked for codes as the file stated to do and it blinked 2 per second meaning everything is normal not getting any codes. i have 9 quarts in it and now im seeing its marking to the cold mark on the dipstick after vehicle is at normal operating temperature. could it be that the reverse gear is burnt out?
