To build or buy? 1st gen 4runner

This is post 1 of my yotatech career but hopefully that will soon change. I'm in the market for a 1st gen 4runner but I want the 3.4 swap to take place. I'd rather purchase an already completed ride but i'm also open to a build. Is anyone familiar with a shop(s) that specializes in 4runner restoration/build near Alabama? This will be a daily driver. I appreciate the help.

Welcome!!

If you don`t plan to do the work your self this is going to get real expensive just how much is the budget??

Then just what is your end goal something to be a daily driver restored to like new condition.

A full blown tricked out off road vehicle ??

1) daily driver - I would like for it to be as close to stock as possible with exception to the 3.4
2) my budget is north of what it would be valued at by most but I'm not interested in resale value or the like
3) end goal is a daily driver (definitely not a tricked out off-road rig)

Buy one cheap and built it how you want it. Even if that just includes a engine swap. Where you located in Bama? I'm in Mobile.

I'm located in Birmingham. The option of building would obviously allow me to tailor it to my liking but I must admit that the prospect of taking on a new project isn't appealing (I'm inpatient).

To buy a 1st get 4Runner with only a 3.4 swap done correctly will fetch a pretty penny.

Welcome, might be a tall order for a stock 1st gen with a motor swap. Might wanna start looking in classifieds on multiple board and be willing to pay to ship.

I think the OP wanted to find a 1st gen 4Runner and have a 3.4 swap done.
