Exclamation 3.0 runs great until it gets warm then it quits

My son is having me try to fix his 95 4runner with a 3.0 in it. The issue is it quits when it warms up, no sputter or backfire or slowdown just like you turned the key off. It won't start back up until it cools a little bit sometimes it only take five minutes other times half hour.
When it won't start I checked the coil wire to the distributer and it gets no spark. I checked the coil warm and got 13500 ohms on both sides, I checked the wires that connect to the coil and they still had 12v.
I've used a paper clip in the diagnostic box and the engine icon blinks continuos when it's ready to start and won't blink at all when it won't start.
I don't want to start throwing parts at it that my son can't really afford, I just need to figure out what's the culprit.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Marty T

Not real sure just how your measuring resistance of the Coil

The Primary is measured between the positive and negative terminals

Should be between 0.36to 0.55 ohms

the secondary resistance is measured between the positive terminal and the high tension lead.
Should read between 9.0 to 15.4 K Ohms

See how those measurements look.

Good luck!!

I think the problem was it desperately needed oil. I feel kinda stupid for wasting all the time checking for electrical issues but my son told me it was electrical.
I filled it with oil and he hasn't had a problem since.
