1995 four runner 3.0 v-6 will 22re fit?
#3
If your set on a motor swap then you should go bigger not smaller. If your needing to replace your motor then it going to be easiest to just put a new 3.0 in. If you want a 22re it might be easier to sell your rig and buy a 22re rig. Hope this helps.

3.0 verses 22re
Thankx for the speedy replies. Have the common blown head gasket with a 1995 four-runner. 3.0 v-6. Anyhow decided to fix it rather than engine swap. You never know the condition of a used motor unless you start it on a stand or in a vehicle. Heard its a lot easier to just pull the motor and tranny at once. Going to the salvage yard today. They just got a 1990 in going to see what kind of shape it is in.
Hope y'all have a good day. If not, what day are you waiting for?

Decided to check where the coolant leak is. Seems to be coming from the far drivers side of the waterpump, left hand of the thermostat housing.
Took off housing, installed new thermostat/gasket. Still leaked . Checked the housing again for cracks. None.
Maybe a leaking pump, right?
To replace water pump. The timing belt must come off.
What a poor design.
Have ordered the timing belt/waterpump kit from advance auto.
Just over $200 using a promo code for 35% off. Got to love it!
That included free shipping.
Well, going to wait on kit.
Hope it is not a cracked block.
I reckon i could have run a compression check to confirm.
What a hassle to change a waterpump.
This is why the local repair shop wants $600 labor alone for the job.
Anyhow, hope to have belts and waterpump put on like asap after the part gets here.
