I remember watching a few youtube vids and ran out of the typical glossy goop
Alternatives today. So, i gave it a go. I used skippy creamy and it seems to work good. It gives the plastics a crazy OEM, garaged, non armor all look. Great for reselling a vehicle as compared to the crazy over slathered used cars you usually see.
Now we'll see how long it lasts.

No rodent issues in az......and your car is not wreaking of peanut butter because there is no residue. You wipe it all off.
I'm a fan......i keep looking at the plastics and thinking ......this is what they looked like 10 yrs ago. No shine or dust collecting goop.....just the original look of new plastic.

 

Seriously peanut butter is a rat's favorite food. You can get the same effect from vegetable oil. Or just buy some Mother's Back to Black at Walmart for about $4. You don't have to look far on this site to see mouse and rat damage done to wires. Why invite them? BTW at the price of peanut butter, Mother's is a lot cheaper.

 

I use orange oil furniture polish, works ok.

 

You gotta be kidding. I have lived in southern AZ for most of my life.
It would be impossible for me to count the cars and trucks whose wiring I have personally seen destroyed by rodents.

It is not uncommon for an unused vehicle to be found with chewed harness and under hood full of mesquite beans and jumping cholla pods in a matter of weeks in southern AZ where I live..

Yep that's the stuff I use. Works great!

 

I used to work at a detail shop, for faded plastic's and vinyls we used a product called "Revive" made by Malco if memory serves me right.. anyway it worked great! it didn't really shine plastics, it just gave life back to faded and sun damaged parts. it didn't collect dust and wasn't too slippery when stepped on (if you put it on a running board) it washed off after a couple washes but even after that the parts still looked better then before.

 

I've tried the peanut butter and it works ok, but the 303 works better and it has UV protection.
