Hey is there any difference between a head gasket for a 22R-TE and a 22R or 22RE?

Depends just how much boost are you running ??

Any special machine work done to the head.

If it is all stock the head gasket is the same not sure if the complete head set is different though

Its the standard EFI Turbo that came stock with the 1987 pick up. No special machine work. I changed the head with a brand new one and a new gasket and the the head is still leaking like a sieve.

I will bet you under torqued the head bolts.

65 foot pounds

Get a new gasket and try again

I torqued them to 58 foot pounds, do you think it would have made that big of a difference?

Is it common for the block to be warped at all?

I did one over 10 years ago only torqued to 58 foot pounds coolant just poured out new gasket retorqued to 65 footpounds still going strong.

Heads tend to warp before blocks. takes a lot of heat to warp a block

Yep, that sounds like what happened to me as well. I ordered a new gasket and bolts, I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks!
