Hey all,
Anybody know where I can find a valance with some mounts for fog lights? I see a lot of them for 3rd gen 4Runners, but not for any 2nd gen. I'm looking for a valance with the mounts below the turn signal. I may end up doing my own custom deal.
Any help would be great.
Have fun.

Thanks for the link! I've seen 2nd gens with the lights mounted beside the license plate like in the picture. I'm looking for one that has the mounts beside the lower "air intake". Sorta like where the turn signals on the newer 3rd gens are located.
I did like the billet grill on that web site. It seemed to be a good price. I'll check it out when I get some $$.
Thanks again. Have fun.

What happened to the post that 91runner (or something like that) had? It was right above my last post. Weird....
Anyways, any more help would be cool.
Have fun.

I think the post was by 91TruckV6, he was causing a lot of trouble and got banned (I think, please correct me if i'm wrong Mods). When I went to read this post, I was starting to think that you were talking to yourself
Then I read your last post and realized what happened
As far as a valance to mount fog lights in, I'm not sure. I've always liked how the 3rd Gens with those looked (near the "lower air-intake" like you said). I'd guess that your best bet (i.e. not spending a lot of $$$$) would be to go the custom route. That way you could have the fog lights exactly where you want them.
On a bit of a side note (kind of a related topic
) I saw a really cool way of mounting some driving/offroad lights. I was driving over to my girlfriend's house yesterday and I saw this Ford (sorry for swearing
) ranger that was lifted (slight rear lift, but the front was higher than the rear) and it had some offroad lights (I Think they were the Hella Blackmagic ones) mounted behind his grill, and he had done something to the grill in front of the lights (I drove by too fast, and didn't get a good look at them) It looked really slick, and i'm wondering if it would be possible/safe to mount some like that behind the grill of a 2nd Gen 4Runner? Just curious, because it seems like a safer/more secure spot to mount the lights than directly to the bumper (I'm afraid that some punk is going to steal my lights if I just mount them to my bumper
)
Well good luck with the Valence, and if you decide to go the custom route be sure to get some pictures of it (and possibly do a write-up for the site
)

Hey all,
Thanks for the great ideas. I was thinking about putting them in the lower air intake like what L33T35T 4Runner has. Just with larger lights. However, I'm trying to go for the more sporty look (since I'm 2wd). So, I'm looking for something like what Jason B has on his 3rd gen, but made for a 2nd gen.
91Runner---I'm not really a big fan of mounting lights behind the grill. I've seen it done on other cars and, frankly, it looks pretty horrendous to me.
The grill probably would help keep them from being stolen or cracked by rocks and what not.
Thanks for the idea though.
L33T35T 4Runner---I've always wondered how those kind of lights work. Are they pretty bright? Are yours fog lamps or running lights?
Kinda unrelated, but how do you put pictures like the one above on the web site?
Thanks again. Have fun.
