just put a new crower stage 2 efi cam and noticed cam gear was one tooth off(corrected that), set everything up as far as mechanically time, but with timing light it reads way too far advanced and idle also surges after coming to a stop..(btw im using the jumper and useing info off all data at work) just cant seem to figure out why it wont time right

 

Make sure TPS is good and correctly adjusted.
Timing won't return to base advance if the TPS is not telling the ECU that the throttle is closed. Happened to me.

 

i had an idle surge as well when i came to a stop. The issue with my truck was a clog in the Idle Air Control Valve. There could be a clog or an air bubble somewhere in your cooling system.
Did you connect the ports in the diagnosis port to set the timing and adjust the distributor?
maybe a vacuum leak?

 

Yes I'm using a jumper to set timing, I'll check the tps and iac valve thanks guys
