Alright boys, did fuel pump yesterday on the truck. 87 22r. Reman pump. Had a reman on prior and it was quiet as a church mouse this on on the other hand the racket coming out of it puts old diesel trucks to shame. Super loud ticking, can hear it over the motor! Thoughts? Everything with the motor is fine, idle is fine. Holds temp fine. Oil pressure fine.

 

Did you compare the 2 pumps to see if they are the same??

other than a line being a little bit different, everything is business as usual in regards to similarity.

 

sorry for the double post, the truck started messing with me and not starting while at the pump, turning over but not starting. had to get a push and jump start it.
ended up putting another pump on and it's fine so far, still ticking though. I'm just going to assume re-manufactured pumps are just noisy in general.

 

Probably a dumb question but does yours have the spacer? If so, did it not get re-installed?
