2001 impala 3.8l swap time.

hey! is my sister being ripped off or are they actually getting $1700 labor in California for a simple engine swap?? (that's 17 hours) Help.

A Chevy forum may be more appropriate for your inquiry. Is she putting this engine into a Toyota?

Short answer: 1) No and 2) $100/hr for shop labor is not unreasonable and may be on the low side in may areas of the country.
