86 Toyota Truck (Camper) oil leak 22RE

I'm about to replace the front crank seal. the truck has 77k miles on it. how likely is it that the oil pump seal is leaking too? i'd like to go camping this weekend....

Are you sure it's the front crank seal? A lot of oil pumps start leaking before they go out. Have you cleaned the front of the motor really well and then watched where it leaks from. Sometimes that is the bed way to track an oil leak. Also I find simple green is a great way to clean a motor of oil. Good luck.

i'm not 100% sure. it will be on a hoist tomorrow. i'd hope that a toyota oil pump lasts longer than 78k miles.....

The pumps hardley ever go out, but the seal is what starts to leak.

I would just replace the front main seal and the oil pump oring.

I have the same problem with my 3.0, however I can only confirm a RH camshaft leak, due to the fact that I can't get the crankshaft sprocket (gear) off the rod. I want to replace all oil seals and that oil pump o'ring.
