1986 Xtracab Turbo bastard by Dcastell

Trying to find info for my truck. I have been searching for a while. This truck seems to be a bit unique on some of the other forums. Yota Jim even stated " been years since I have seen an Auto Turbo around here"

Pics for the kids.

Stats for the techs:
86 all original with all the upgrades. Power windows, doors, and moon roof.
Oil cooled Turbo, I assume is from a saab. 10lbs of boost from what I was told. Original manifold and turbo came in the bed of the truck. Cracked turbo.
Rebuilt motor, runs like a champ.

Issues:
Speedo cable is fcked. Dash side.., pulled cable from t-case. Cool case, never seen one with a cooler line and cooler.
Wont start in Park. Auto tranny. Some times if I shake, swear, and yank on steering wheel. Will start in Park. Will start in Neutral.

Not new to custom fabricating. Just dont have the patience for the yip yap crap that pisses me off.

Other builds or in progress.

Great looking truck. The trucks I have seen with that stripe pattern tend to be fully loaded. I don't know much about the automatics, but there is a box under the cover just forward of the shifter that has something to do with the automatic trucks. Maybe that box just needs replaced.

It is the fully loaded pickup. Thanks for the lead on the secret shifter compartment. It is hard to find info.

build plan: Expedition and shop rig. Small and bits at a time build. Bumper here, slider here, then the bed....

There is the typical bed rust. Not bad, but not sure how to move forward. I would like to make an elegant flat bed that can still hold a piece of 4x8 sheet of metal. I got time to dream this up.

Right now I need to get the small things working again.

Heater not working. Valve stuck replaced, now the switch is cracked/pulled away from pivot point. I pulled the cig tray and manually pulled the line to the heater core box. Works smooth

The other cable from the switch to the fire wall is stuck. This might be the entire systems failure component. This led to all the corrosion and system not moving.

Need Cruise control cable as well. Stuck and bent. Good luck finding this little gem. Looks like it is petal operated with some sort of vacuum system.

Starting issue. Wont start some times in Park. Not having any luck researching this answer either.

Sell the bed? Keep the bed and put it back to stock. Got a buyer already interested in it, but it took a long time to find this baby.

Auto so the wife can hop in it and use it.

Trail raping a clean turbo truck is blasphemy.
