front brake replacement 79 toyota

Got a 79 curious how the front discs come apart to replace the rotor I'm assuming I have to remove the hub? Just wanted to double check before I dig into this thing

Hilux is right take the hub and rotor and get a BFH and pound out the wheel studs and then tnere is two bolt to remove, if you use brass to pound them out you should be able to reuse them

They've got it right, the hub comes off to replace that rotor. Might as well consider getting new bearings and rebuilding those knuckles while you've got it that far apart. And get some new wheel studs, because you likely won't get the old ones out without beating the living ˟˟˟˟˟ out of them and damaging the threads. And have a press ready to press in the new wheel studs because a hammer isn't going to seat them down all the way. Other than all that, it's a piece of cake!

Oh, and you'll want some good snap ring pliars and you'll need a 54mm socket to get those spindle nuts off. I actually use a 2 1/8" craftsman socket from sears for mine - fits perfectly.
