89 4Runner wont crank
Hello,
I have just replaced the head gaskets and all gaskets on my 89 4runner V6 3.0. I put everything back together, torqued everything to specs. I started at TDC obviously and worked my way up. The only thing I was worried about were the vacuum lines on the left side (looking at engine from the front). I have put everything back the way it was but it acts like the battery was dying so i jumped it and at some points it acts like it wants to start but just wont. I guess my question is could this be the vacuum lines or maybe not enough spark(also replaced spark plugs)? Any thoughts/comments will be greatly appreciated.

pull the plugs and see if you are getting spark
if you have spark, check for fuel pressure. there is no shrader valve so i would crack open the cold start injector and see if it has any fuel coming out. you might even just pull that out and see what it looks like. sometimes that will get a lot of crap on it and it wont start. if it is cold there, and it is trying to start (cranking but wont wire) that might be the problem.

The distributor was 180 around. Went tooth for tooth for a while and one it started and got it running, timed it and everything worked. Now i have a overheating issue. I have replaced the thermostat 3 times in 2 years. My question is, is this normal for this model? Should i replace the waterpump and thermostat to remedy this? And where is the analog line for the temp guage?
