about a year ago I got my runner and went through the motor. got it running after I found out some idiot ran straight water in it and plugged a bunch of stuff. now it idles between 1000 - 1400 rpms when warm. I've searched all over trying to possibly figure out what is causing it. ive checked the tps, cleaned the throttle body, checked the vacuum lines, and nothing has tested bad or was hooked up wrong. ive had to run it with the timing set at 0 and the idle air screw all the way in. if I run mid grade in it it idles like it should and I can back the screw back out. I have pretty much ran out of ideas. and it acts up when ya hit the brakes coming to a stop it surges from idling too high.

 

you idle air control valve is shot. (Maybe U can clean it with CRC?)

 

Thats what i hit it with. I messed with it today and turned it back up to 10 degrees but still have to have the iac turned in all the way and it just barely idles over 1000

 

I do have a spare engine from a 95 and a throttle body that im gonna try and see what it does

 

I changed the throttle body and it seems to have fixed it so far
