First off its a 1989 toyota pickup 4wd 3.0. I would start my truck in first like I normally do because i leave it parked in gear. Well I would pull forward and when it was time to shift the thing would not shift to slave its life just grind the gears. When the truck is off it flows through all the gears no problem and when it is on it comes out of gear. The truck had been sitting for a couple of months so if figured maybe that might be a problem and got to thinking that it had the original master and slave so I figured since they were fairly cheap why not go ahead and replace both. I got the new ones in just fine but have a big problem now. I try and bleed the line but no air really seems to come out and if any does its not much. I have no pressure at all on my clutch pedal. So I was just wondering am i missing anything? Or any tricks you guys may Know? Oh I also adjusted the bracket that attaches to the clutch pedal all the way out and nothing really changed. I then adjusted it back in and it helped some but not much.

 

I have the same issue but mine is a different story. My clutch engages and disengages just fine but my pedal has always been spongey. My old man's 88 has plenty of pressure and we have the same clutch, parts, etc. However, i think my rear main seal is leaking so the clutch could be oil soaked as well. As for the bleeding, try having it or doing it yourself vacuum bled. Gravity bleeding can lead to missed air bubbles.

 

Sounds like a slave cylinder or clutch master cylinder

 

Well i did replace the slave cylinder about a year ago and right after i install it there was no difference. That's why I'm confused

 

What about the clutch master?

 

That was done a few years ago but at the time my old man was still driving it. I wasnt 16 yet :p It was leaking all over the carpet inside. He said it was a little spongey then too
