Leaking oil from the axle, need recommendation
I had to take the rear brake drum off and saw I needed new pads. No big deal. But then I used a wire brush and brushed off some crud. Doing this opened an oil leak which had been slow up until that point I guess. The leak is coming from the oil seal as best I can see.
Since I am already this far into disassembly it makes little sense to put the new brake shoes on and then get them covered in oil. So what should be replaced? I need to buy the parts so would this be inner oil seal, wheel bearing, and outer oil seal or is there more to it?
My truck is completely stock with 225 on it.

Its an inner axle seal. Wicked easy to change.

Dont pay attention to the wheel bearing part, your not going in that far.

I went ahead and removed the axle just now and the bearings seem like they're over the hill. Lots and lots of play and audible friction spots on spinning it. It also spins too freely until it hits those friction spots. The bearing is Japanese although I can't make out the brand so it could be original, time to replace as 225k miles is a good life I would say.
I've identified the replacement bearing as 9036340020, which is an NSK. These can be had for $18 per. There seems to be some confusion about the inner and outer seal as far as brand goes with people claiming the OEM isn't a good seal. I'll probably go with the OEM anyway but still looking for part numbers to see whats out there on those seals. I'm only seeing one seal and its the 9031050006. Not sure if its the inner or outer.
EDIT: the rear outer is part number 9031348001 and the rear inner is part number 9031050001.

Autohaus. Got two each of the following for $60 shipped: inner seal, outer seal, and wheel bearing. They didn't have the o-rings so I had to spend $12 on ebay! These were OEM parts as well. NSK, etc.

Using the pounding method I got it all apart. Here was my procedure:
Remove the clip
Lay down a sheet of masonite to protect the end of the axle (home depot)
Get two small hand towels and make a nice cushion for your hands on either side of the backing plate (this is critical).
Lift up high and try to hit straight down and just keep doing it.
It isn't the number of blows, it is the quality of how hard the strike is and at a good angle.
Now I am just waiting for my parts.
Can anyone comment on the o-ring placement? The FSM seems to show it going around the axle housing or bearing. Thing is, I don't see an old one on my vehicle unless maybe it decomposed....?

In the picture I posted above, the 0 ring is around the out side edge of the axle tube. You can see it if you look close.
