Miles out of a rebuild

Of course it depends on the person that rebuilt it and quality of parts, but I've been reading a lot of people saying their rebuilt crapped out at 10k, even without sparing time or expenses.

What's the MOST any of y'all are getting, or have got out of, a 22re rebuild? Feel free to throw in specifics on parts or who built it etc.

Do they usually hit the 100k mark? Is this too much to ask?

I'm in Oregon and have been looking at Oregon Engine Rebuilders (seemed positive at first, but there's a whole thread on here where about a dozen people explain problems with this place) and NWTeamYota (seems real legit, anyone NW guys have experience with theses guys?), although NWTeamYota is considerably more expensive.

a poorly done engine should make it 10-20k in my experience if it makes it past 20k its going to 100k if you dont do something dumb or have bad luck

I think it depends a lot on the shop that is doing your machine work. When I rebuilt my 87 22re, I took the head to a shop that specialized in race engines (not cheap). So far I have 75k on my rebuild and there is no sign that the engine is having a single problem.

It seems depressing, but I think that most shops really just don't know how to build engines very well. You have to really search for a good shop with a good reputation.

It seems like all shops still sell a few lemons. I can't find a regional shop that doesn't have a couple reviews out there about how they cut corners on some guys engine and then went back in their warranty.

I've also noticed more people having problems with performance rebuilds than standard 22re.
