91 Pickup 22re piece of oil dipstick stuck in tube

I have that little black circular bit stuck in the oil tube after it decided to come off the dipstick. Any ideas on how to remove it out of the tube without pushing it into the pan?

Any and all suggestions welcome, other than dropping the pan.

Michael

The tube is only a press fit into then block .

If it is the black rubber piece can you pull it out with a bent pik??

Push it down into the oil pan and get a new dipstick .

Get the part # off your dipstick and get a new one.

These pieces dry out and shrink over the years till they no longer seal in the tube.

This has happen to me on a few of the older years .

Little back story. I just re-built the motor, bottom up, and the little black rubber piece that was attached to the dipstick has become un-attached. I would prefer if I could get the piece out and not have to worry about it floating about it in the oil pan.

I am ordering a new dipstick, but I really don't want to pull the pan and get debris out of it.
