Looking for suspension advice / help - Denver / Englewood
Hey all,
I have a 85 4Runner that was lifted and set up by the guy the PO bought it from... I don't have any documentation and am looking for advice. Either here on in person. Would be all about meeting some of members around my area, drinking beer and sharing build ideas.
Here is what I know about my lift/suspension set-up:
2 inch Body Lift
Rancho RS9179s - collapsed 14 / extended 22.3 / travel 8.3 -- set to the softest setting.
Leafs - rear has an added leaf / both front and rear have a "wedge" on the bottom of the stack. This appears to tilt the axle shafts to increase the angle of the drive shaft. Front shackles are 5'' and rears are 6''.
I feel like it is sitting too high and would like to drop it down an inch or two. This also allows me enough clearance to get it to my garage without effort (low clearance/old garage) I also need new shocks as the old Ranchos are pretty shot. Leafs need to be rewrapped as the add a leaf is not strapped to the others as is shifting out of alignment.
Trying come up with a the best way to get the decreased lift and install new shocks at the same time. I would prefer not to loose(or increase) shock travel. Also need to decide if I am going to repair the leafs or install some others.
Ideas? Thoughts? Care to take a look?
