So, one of the very last issues I need to resolve on my 1995 22RE 4x4 is that the light which indicates 4x4 is active does not work.

I have the manual Asin hubs and the 4x4 absolutely engages and works - I've tested it. I have also confirmed the light isn't burnt out. The PO said he noticed the light wasn't working several months after he had the clutch replaced. He suspected a wire wasn't connected again when they put it back together. Thoughts?

Where would this wire be if that was the case?

 

the wire coming from the 4wd light on the gauge cluster is the ground side of the light coming from the dash to the switch on the t case that grounds out of the frame or through the t case. depending on if the switch has one wire or 2 coming out of it......

 

Not sure how your 95 is set up but, my 88 has a switch on the T-case that turns the light on when you engage 4wd.

Yours should have a similar setup. Find a wiring diagram.

 

It's on the tcase. Real easy to find.

 

If you have ADD there's also a connector on the front diff
