87 4Runner TrueTrac vs Lockright IFS

Here is my 87 4Runner "Bueller" as the family named it. on 33's 4.88 gears , 3" body lift with a Lockrite locker in the rear and a few other goodies.
Even with just the body lift it's a pretty capable machine but would like to get a little more out of it.
I do some pretty good wheeling and use it for hunting so trying to keep it reliable and to keep from having to wrench on it out in the trail as much as possible.
There have been a couple times on really loose sand/ dirt/ gravel trying to climb but just digging holes instead. I'm trying to decide whether to just put a locker in the front or installing a Truetrac? would like to save the frant end from too much abuse and keep some turning radius up front kinda leaning towrads the Truetrac but figured before I spent the dough I would ask you guys about it. Any info appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply, I have been searching and reading till my eyes burn! I think I'll go TrueTrac. Having a little difficulty finding the right one I think it's part # 911A445 . Can anyone confirm this?

Truetrac up front would be dangerous on snowy/icy pavement right?

Nope. Works very well in the slick. Better than a full locker.

I've got a truetrac I the rear of mine. It still amazes me how forgiving it is. I'd definitely go with one in the front over a locker. Aside from being Sketchy on ice and snow, a locker up front would be hard on the cv's.

So, how does the truetrac differ from the supra lsd swap? Because a lot of people have told me not to put that in the front ifs because it will be dangerous to drive on slick roads.

true track would be the closest thing to an open diff as its a limited slip rather than full locked. It should be just fine for slick roads.

like already stated, truetrac would be good option for DD since it's not a true locker. the only downside i see with it is that since it replaces your carrier, you will have to set up the gears again - which is an added cost over a lunchbox locker, which just drops right in without any extra work. downside to the lunchbox locker is that it's going to be fully locked at some point when you don't want it to be - like on the road on ice

Actually the ifs front diff is fairly easy to do. Truetrac front is the way to go if you plan on driving on the road in snowy slippery conditions on the road. A locker up front drives horribly on pavement.
