93 3.0 toyota 4 runner leaking gas under uppee intake down front of motor

I need some help! I have a 93 toyota 4 runner with the 3.0 v6. Its leaking gas under the upper intake down both front sides of the motor. I replaced the injectors and intake gasket. Any help would be greatly appreciated I'm about sick of working on it!

Have you checked fuel rail connections and return line hoses? Fuel comes in, hits a regulator, hits the fuel lines, and excess is sent back through a return line. It's not too complicated, just trace the fuel line coming in, and check the fuel rail, associated fittings, and return line. My bet is on the fuel rail. Check the injector fittings, too.

I bet an injector o ring(s) is/are leaking. U need to take the upper intake off and pressurize the fuel system by jumping B+ and Fp in the diagnostic connector. The leak will show itself this way.

The first thing it hits is the Fuel Pressure Damper. The regulator is at the far end of the rail.

But as much trouble as it is to remove the plenum (upper intake manifold), YotaWoRx 's method is by far the easiest way to find a fuel leak. Looking for fuel leaks with a running (hot) engine is just too scary for me. Replacing o-rings "on spec" is useless unless you pressure test the system while you can still look at your work.

With the upper intake on and the system pressurized all you can see is the gas dripping under the truck. With the intake off and it pressurized there is no leak. I do not understand this!

Check the cold start injector fitting and line with the system pressurized. (Make sure you can hear the fuel pump when you jump the connector) move the cold start line around, rotate each injector. You need to poke at it a little....

Well it did not fix itself, but maybe when u took the intake off u seated an injector that wasn't seated correctly. Put it back together and see what happens. And FYI if u do need to take the intake off again, u only need to disconnect the throttle and transmission cables, a few main hoses going to the plenum, and u can flop the whole plenum over to the passenger side with all the millions of vacuum lines still attached lol. And oh yeah separate the throttle body from the intake before you attempt this

I did put it back together and it went right back to leaking wich means it has to be something on that intake itself.

The only fuel line connected to the intake is the cold start injector line

I have the cold start injector off my old intake I'm going to switch em out and see what happens

I know its an old thread but it popped up when I googled symptons. I just jumped connector and mine is spraying from back of pass side fuel rail. Not sure if return line plugged or rail just spring a leak. Gonna pull fuel rail off spare engine in garage.

Plugging the return line would make no difference; the rail is a pressurized system, and the fuel is supposed to stay inside.

There are a lot of fittings and connections at the back of the rail; one of those will let go long before the "rail just spring a leak." I doubt that replacing the rail (donor or otherwise) is in your future.

And DON'T try to reuse any of the crush washers, particularly those from a "spare" engine. They are one-time-use; if you try to reuse them you will have fuel leaking again soon enough.

The screw in the back of damper came out. The plastic cap caused the fuel to spray forward.
