Turn Signal / Multifunction Switch / Horn Success
Just wanted to post a little info about my experience in hopes that it might help someone down the line. For awhile now I've had the problem of my turn signals working sporadically. Some days they would, others they wouldn't. Hazards worked one day, then all of a sudden they stopped working as well. Turn signals would still work off and on.
I bought a turn signal relay and replaced it. That didn't help a thing, but I'm glad I got one. The old one looked like it was melting from the inside out. I checked and rechecked all the bulbs and my turn signal fuse. Everything looked good to go. Not being too good with anything electrical, I figured I'd have to shell out big bucks for a new multifunction switch.
Before I ordered a switch, I found a thread somewhere on a message board (can't remember where, I did a Google search and found it) about taking apart your MFS and cleaning it up. As a last ditch effort, I tried this. It's simple to do! I don't have a camera so I am unable to post pictures, but if I can do it, anyone on this board should be able to do it in their sleep. The contacts for the turn signal/hazards were covered in old grease. I cleaned this off and brass brushed the contacts to get them good and shiny again and covered everything with some dielectric grease. Put it back in and I now have working turn signals!
As a side note, my hazards were still not working. Checked the fuse box again and notice the hazard/horn fuse is blown. I put in a new fuse...and bingo, hazards work but the horn doesn't. Again, hopped on Google and found the info I needed to get the horn working! I shimmed up he brass ring on the back of my steering wheel. I went a step further and also put a 22 shell on the brass plunger. Holy cow, I heard the horn for the first time!
Hopefully this will help someone who might be having some of these issues!

Another point is that often times the metal contact on the back of the steering wheel is worn down so much that it only makes contact when you push forward on your steering wheel at 12o'clock! At least that was the case for my horn!
