hey just got a 1976 toy truck

Hey guys i got this truck and the owner told me it would run if I put a Ignition Ignitor is it real so were can i find one I been looking for a while now and thanks.

I have one for a 22r... not sure if they're the same though..Pics?

They're pricey, unfortunately. Probably not the same as a 22R. The wire connectors changed through the years, at least. You could splice it in, though, if you were confident that internal stuff didn't change too much throughout the years.

I'll see if I can find a link I had a while back for cheaper ones. Any regular autopart store won't be much cheaper than the dealership, which means a couple hundred dollars. But I saw some online for a bit cheaper. Still pricey though.

Do you trust that the previous owner knew what he was talking about? It's a lot of money to spend if someone is just assuming. If it's definitely a spark issue and nothing else, it could also be plugs, wires, distributer cap/rotor, or coil. All of which are cheaper than the ignitor. Even all together they'd probably cost less.

Pertronix.com should have them, and Rock Auto. Rock Auto was getting rid of a bunch of them for 20R trucks a couple months ago. $56...That was a great deal. I think they're $200 normally. I paid more than that for mine from NAPA when it went out in my '83.

All of those would be less to do coil is like 15 plugs and wires are maybe 40.
