86 22ret no injector pulse. HELP!!

I have a 86 22ret that i am getting no injector pulse with a noid light. I am just about the conculsion that my ECU is bad but need advise on other componets to check before replacing ECU. I have check the injector solenoid and have proper voltage and omhs. I have 12v on both side of the injector wiring. I am not receiving the ground. Truck will run if you bottle feed it gas other wise just starts and dies. It is starting off the cold start injector spray and dies within two seconds. Any help would be great.

Verify continuity from the injector plugs to the ECU, double check all your grounds, then find a loaner computer if everything else checks out.

I have verified continuity from ecu to the injector solenoid, and also from soleniod to injectors. I have ohmed the grounds against body ground. I did recheck all this work again to be sure. I did try a computer from a 5 speed turbo with on luck but could not verify it was a good unit as it was lying in my friends yota stash

I do have one question. will the tps shut injectors down if it thought it was wide open? I know some models use WOT during starting to clear flooded conditions.

about ready to burn it....but cant get any fuel....lol

I had this same problem after doing a HG and turbo rebuild on my 87 22ret. I missed the ground wire that is under the upper intake but it bolts to one of the bolts where the intake splits and comes out of the harness that goes under in between the two. That ground is the only ground that matters for the injectors. BTW i have lots of experience with that engine, and turbo specific things. including modding. It is easy to miss i missed it for like three days and the whole time my truck had the exact same symptoms as yours

Thanks for the help. I will double check it again. Best I recall I have two grounds bolted to the intake about mid way back. One from head to firewall and one on ps pump bracket . Hopefully you are right and I have missed one. Odd thing is this truck ran for about twenty mile after the new engine went in. Now been down for two months as I have tried to find the issue. I will post my finding after I get home this evening.

I can't find the picture currently, but yeah you're missing the primary computer/sensor ground right side valve cover at the inside rear.

Anyone have an EWD for this truck? Or a factory repair manual?

I dont think being a turbo would be any different then what I experinced. Just because it will pass a resistance check, doesnt necessarily mean that the injectors are getting enough of a pulse to fire them off. My experience was it pass resistance check but would not fire the injectors. Turned out to be inside the wiring harness there are some little crimps that corrode and I am guessing it will cause enough reisitance to cause the injector to fail to fire. Here is what I went thru.>>> Post #664 https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...l#post51897320
