88 toyota pickup 22re oil leak
#2
If I'm remembering correctly, the 22re's dipstick just gets pushed into the block and gets a bolt that holds it in place. Its been almost 20 years since I've messed with a 22re. My guess is if its leaking where it meets the block, you could find another dipstick tube assembly and give that a shot, or find some sort of gasket or oring that might seal it up, or maybe a little jb weld? Someone else might of had this same problem and has a proper fix for it. Just giving you my 2 cents, its not a super critical area, but a leak is a leak.

Id get a can of the " gunk" remover or engine cleaner, try and remove the oil with cleaner and water pressure, then you can see where its coming from. If you do this, be careful with distributor area and other electric type things. I always let the engine run when I clean the engine area, " I did it when I was younger with the engine off, and it wouldn't start for hours" I've never heard of oil coming out of the dipstick tube. If that's where its coming from, the idk for sure. Sounds like a pressure problem ? But first you gotta see where its coming from .
