I am doing the knuckle rebuild and my knuckle balls are a little rusty. Whats the best way to get them balls nice and smooth? Hit them with a wire brush then maybe some 1000 sand paper? I don't want to gouge them so they leak.

Whats your method for cleaning your balls?

Also saw some were painting their balls, any specific paint you had good luck with?

 

Use the proper amount of grease and keep up the maintenance. Polishing them smooth is irrelevant and a waste of time.

 

emery cloth works well I have heard and seen post. You polish your balls as much as you want.
