1988 toyota lift ideas

i have a completely stock 1988 toyota 4x4 with the 4 cyl 5 speed. im trying to learn everything to start wheeling. i been thinking 4 inch with 33s i been hearing is good for trails. and ideas like whats a good wheel size and suspension lift where to get tube bumpers im about to come home from deployment and make a fun toy thanks

you can run 31's with stock suspension and gears.

33's will require a lift or trimming fenders and you will not be happy with power and mpg loss without a gear change.

you can do a ball joint lift for the front for cheap lift.

look up blazeland or total chaos for long travel front suspension.

you can do the chevy 63" springs on the back.

add some lockers and have some fun lol...

ok cool thanks ill check it out also is 88 toyota is that a solid front axle or is that when they started with independent?

The first year of IFS was 86 and the last year of solid axle was 85... so yours has IFS.
