Hissing / Rubbing sound after installing rebuilt g52 transmission
#1
Just installed a rebuilt g52 trans from Marlin Cralwer. Also used their clutch kit. It was my first time doing it so I'm looking for some input if what I'm experiencing is normal break-in process.
There is a hissing sound, or possibly two parts rubbing together, coming from the transmission, clutch/etc., I think. It comes only when accelerating and the vehicle is in gear. I didn't notice it when the truck was cool.
Does that sound like normal break-in on the trans? Any ideas where to start fishing for the answer?
Hoping I don't have to pull it all apart again.

I've uploaded an audio clip if anyone cares to listen and guess what the sound is. Thanks!
Starting at 17 seconds you can hear the hissing start when I accelerate.

Ok, I'm a dumb dumb. The sound IS also happening in neutral, albeit more subtle. Seems to be related to engine speed.
Other symptoms potentially related: lack of power, small amount of black smoke coming from rear of engine when I would rev the throttle linkage, exhaust/steam coming out of air intake after revving engine.
Keep in mind, the truck has been parked for 9 years until in April when i did a tune up. I was only able to drive it for a small amount of time until the trans went out. Now that the new transmission is in I'm at the beginning of discovering what damage has been done through age and abuse.

Found the culprit. Replaced this hose with a hole in it. It was easy to find because it had fallen of it had gotten so loose.
Hooked everything back up. Finally felt the power that a rebuilt transmission, new clutch, and a rebuilt carb should bring! It was a fun ride.
Can someone tell me what this part is [PICS]? The bad hose ran from the bottom of it. (I'm still very new and learning as I go)
