22R Head: 1981-1984 vs 1985-1995 Differences?

22R Head: 1981-1984 vs 1985-1995 Differences?
I'm looking to get a new head for my 22R that I'm rebuilding for my 1983 pickup and was wondering what the differences were between the 1981-1984 22R Heads and the 1985-1995 22R Heads. I know that the exhaust ports are pear shaped on the 85-95 heads and round on the the 81-84 heads, but what are the other differences? And what would I need to do or is it even possible to slap a 85-95 head on my 1983 block?
