BENSYOTA 93 3.0 5speed ex cab BUILD THREAD

ok.lol..bought the truck for 3k. 160k on the odometer. 3" trailmaster lift with 32"km2's, magnoflow exhaust.bought it knowing rear main seal was bad and had a gas leak. the truck was shipped from arizona about 5 months ago. i wont go into full detail right now because its late. found out the gas leak was the fuel pulsation dampner and then i just got involved. (my fault) thats how i work. i ended up pulling the engine and decided to change all the maintenance seals and bearings, pcv valve, dizzy cap and rotor, adjust valves which was new to me with these engines but turned out pretty easy. plugs and wires, valve cover gaskets, small plastic clips that have broken over time. all this stuff is bought already plus more that i have forgot and will post pics of this

siting next to my other 93 standard cab

the problem that started this build

pulling it out

work bench ihad to build to give me some working room

parts pile aquiring

engine out

the trouble i am having right now getting the crank sprocket off to change the front seal

to come on this is marlin crawler hd clutch kit with pilot bearing, input shaft seal and bearing, headers of some sort. isr mod will be made when engine is back in and many others. parts are pouring in. i got to get busy on this. i have only had the truck for about a month. i didnt even drive it but to back it down my driveway and its been there ever since. big plans with the truck. i told myself i would take my time since i have my daily driver. i will post my build thread from toyotanation on that truck in my sig. i will add to this as i remember everything. thank you all and hopefully this build gets attention. i was gonna post it in the tech section so more ppl would see it but i figured i would follow guidelines instead

I had a 91 extended cab and it was a great truck. Your build is looking good. Getting the cam pulleys off sounds to be a pain. Seems like I recall 8t8 build came up with a solution to that. Might check it out for some tips. Great looking truck.

Well. I did purchase a sleeve being nervous about how much it would cover. It ends up covering the whole stepped up part of the crank. So that makes me very happy. After looking at it closer, I did have slight grooves starting to wear from the seal. So it would prob be better off with a sleeve anyhow. Comp it still down. I will h taking pica the whole way and when I get it back I will post them. Last parts shipment to start assembly is coming today.

I plan on it. I wanna do the sas first. I know I know I have it out. Don't ask me why. I just wont have to worry about the engine failing on me when working on other things. I still have to do a lot of knowledge reading on both. I'm in the process of looking for straight axle though. I cant stop. Sas will be cheaper for now as well.
