My 85 short body 22r is miss firing when accelerating as it starts to miss fire she

will slowly start to over heat... last week i had the same problem... i drained the

gas and changed the fuel filters... then it ran fine, wasnt hesitating drove it like

i stole it and wheeled it all weekend and drove home a total of 200 miles... now

im having the same problem again. so i performed the same procedures as

before drained gas and changed filters.... shes still very hesitant and

overheating again im scared and sad... she is not only my weekend worrier but

she is also my daily driver to and from work...

Any parts store should have a fuel pump for your truck.

Be sure to check all of your vacuum lines, and replace any bad lines that you find.

Have you ever replaced your gas cap ?. The gas cap has to be a vented style, otherwise a cacuum will build up in the gas tank, and that could a lean condition or fuel starving.

Another thing to check is the charcoal canister on the passenger side of the engine compartment, it is also part of the vent system for the gas tank. There is a hose that comes off the bottom, make sure its not plugged with mud or dirt.
