FJ Rims on 1st Gen 4Runner
Didnt find much info on retrofitting newer toyota rims on our older rigs on here, so I thought id clear some things up.
Picked up a set of newer FJ rims, they fit perfect. They are hub-centric so I even got to re-use my lug nuts

I had 2007 Tacoma aluminum wheels on mine for a minute. I needed "special lugs" and they were so close to the tie rods that I had to pry off the inner-wheel weights or they would rub thetie rod housings. i ended up trading for the 1996ish Tacoma aluminums. x2 on new wheels don't fit an old truck.... unless it was a 12 inch lift pavement punder, but just not convenient for those of us that drive through dirtbike trails full of rocks and brush
Go figure I don't have a picture online, but its these style wheels on a 1st gen runner:
These are what I rock now ( still require the special "fat and short" mag lug nuts)

OEM alloys require a OEM lugnuts, the shank type with the washer, not the tapered end acorn style. OEM lugnuts are tapered on the end so they can be used on a steel rim spare if necessary.
Typically all OEM Toyota alloys will swap out IFS to IFS on 6x5.5
You have issues putting IFS wheels on SFA and need wheel spacers.
2011 4WD Tacoma OEM alloys on 95 2WD 4Runner
I need wheel spacers for the caps to fit in the front over the OEM wheel hub but other than that they look awesome. Best part the tires/rims under 1k miles on them for $150
