Yota cranks but not starting. Suggestions welcome.

I was going down the interstate and my 89 SR-5 3vz e stalled out. After checking under the hood I found nothing. Climbed underneath and found O2 sensor hanging and wires melted from sitting on exhaust. I pulled sensor and ohm'd it out after it it cooled, checked out at 6.3 which is right on. So i taped up bare wires and reconnected sensor. Tried to start and it cranked but would not turn over. Wondering if shorted wires may have cause an issue with the ECU and or something else in the fuel injection system. No fault code or check engine light appeared. I have a Chilton's manual and have done some trouble shooting but not really getting anywhere. Any suggestions would be welcome and much appreciated.

I had a similar situation with an '89 4Runner, where it quit running while driving at highway speed. There was a blown 15 amp fuse entitled: "engine," if memory serves me.

Maybe someone else can help with the identification of this fuse? Without this fuse intact you will have no power to the computer.

Of course, whenever a fuse blows that means too much current is flowing through it. This could be a short circuit in the computer power circuit or something else on the same circuit. If memory serves me, I troubleshot for 3 days then I brought it to Toyota on a trailer. They never found the issue but it magically started working after 3 days.

Good luck.

Fantastic, I had checked the fuse panel in the cab and just gave a quick visual on the bigger fuses under the hood. It was the 15 A EFI fuse. Much appreciated!!
