Pro Comp ES3000 vs. Skyjacker Hydro 7000

I've been planning to lift my truck for some time, and I read that I would need new shocks to go with it. It needs new ones anyway. I've been searching around ebay and found kits with Pro Comp ES3000s. I could do it cheaper with the Skyjacker Hydro 7000s, but I figured I'd ask around here first before I pull the trigger on either one. I'm willing to pay a little more for the Pro Comps if they would be better.

From what I have read so far, both are great for the cost. I have read a lot that the Skyjackers are hard to install because of the bushings, but that isn't an issue.

Any experiences with either shock, good or bad, is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

I had ES3000's on my old '85 4runner with a 4" Pro-Comp lift. It was a stiff ride to say the least.

Not sure how they would be on an IFS truck though. I run Bilsteins now and will never look back.

Honestly I doubt there is a whole lot of difference between the low end 4x4 shocks be they Rancho, Skyjacker, Pro-comp etc.

There isn't much difference... they're all white, and come with color specific boots. ( skyjacker and rancho are red, pro comp is blue ) Bilsteins are where its at, if you feel like forking towards them. I also like high end rancho RS9000s

I've always heard Bilsteins were the best, but very expensive. That's why I've never even considered them. Just for kicks, I just looked up the price and just about had a heart attack! $104.95 PER SHOCK on 4wheelonline.com! I can get 4 Skyjackers for $149 here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-Skyjacker-...ht_3186wt_1270. Still haven't decided though.

Someone on a Jeep forum said they switched from the ES3000s to the Hydro 7000s and they saw a world of difference. However, that is a Jeep forum...

Skyjackers are having a $35 dollar rebate on Hydro shocks and $55 dollar rebate on nitro shocks. ( nitros are their slightly improved ones )

I get my shocks on thursday. i'll probably lift it this weekend.
