AMS8171-APEX exhaust manifold gasket set from Autozone includes what seems to be 2 gaskets(one metal material & one cardboard material) & some kind of insulation strips. I've got the stock '86 carb, intake & exhaust setup but the rebuilt longblock has steel rockers so I got an exhaust set for an earlier(81-84)... does anyone know how to properly stack these up??? Where would the insulation go??? Here are some torque specs as a contribution:

exhaust manifold - 29-36ft.lb
intake manifold - 13-19ft.lb
cylinder head - 53-63ft.lb
cam sprocket - 53-63ft.lb
cam bearing caps - 14ft.lb
8mm t-cover - 9ft.lb
10mm t-cover - 29ft.lb
oil strainer - 9ft.lb
oil pan - 9ft.lb
oil pump(top; short bolt w/seal) - 18ft.lb
oil pump(far left & far right; longer bolts) - 14ft.lb
oil pump(bottom; shorter bolts) - 9ft.lb
crank pulley - 120-130ft.lb
rod bearing - 40-47ft.lb
main bearing - 69-83ft.lb
flywheel - 80ft.lb
clutch pressure plate - 11-15ft.lb
belhousing-to-engine - 37-57ft.lb
master cylinder reservoir - 15-21ft.lb

didn't realize heat shields for exhaust manifold fit between manifold & head mating surface...

other heat shield/shrowds mount up on side of manifold w/out gasket I haven't used one for years... I just keep those spark plug wires up & out of the way. thanks again.
