boil over and bearing noise. Water pump failure?

Alright so I am not too sure what to think of this but just looking for opinions;

About a month ago I had my engine replaced did a sright swap thing ran great too good really idled great sounded mint and gave me no worries. Pulling off the highway after 700 miles I start to leak Coolent enogh so that I can see it on the pavement beside me. I had already been driving for a while and this only started to happen as I slowed down, stopped and such.

After I see that water is dripping I stop the 87 22re runner and try to see where it's coming from but to dark. I check my over flow to see if there's any Coolent. Normal level I put the cap back on ...... This is where it get weird as I close the hood and walk back to the cab the res starts spilling over like crazy I shut if off and notice that my temp gauge was about 3/4 high. Next day I filled the rad with water truck start 1st crank like a champ and runs smooth with no spilling.

I do beleave I am hearing a scraping from the water pump.

Any thoughts?????

Thanks sorry for the spelling

I have no idea.

I can't really read that, which makes it hard to understand.

Maybe water pump goin out? See if the little weep hole at the bottom is wet or dripping? If so, that could be some of it. My dad's xj had a funky scraping, rattling noise at idle, never did figure it out. Then, months later, water pump pooped the bed. Old impeller was all chewed up and so was housing!

Water pumps are notorious leaking intermidately.

Replace water pump.

The coolant overflowed from the reservoir, because you had a very hot engine, and the coolant you added flash boiled after making it's way into the engine.. Your gauge read higher because the boiled coolant flowed past the sensor, giving you the reading. The grinding noise could be the water pump. Easy enough to remove and inspect it on your 22RE.
