2Gen 4runner fuel tank.
Hi guys,
I'm under the bus (91- V6) at the moment with a question, is there a bung/plug in the bottom of the fuel tank or a union that has a pipe coming of it ??

It looks like previously there may have been a aux tank fitted to car that has been removed and has left me with a few left over pipes that just have bolts shoved in them to block them off...

Any help would be appreciated ???

Sounds like an aux. gravity flow fuel tank connection. That is the factory drain plug, it gets replaced with a fitting to attach a tube from the aux. tank to feed the gas into the main tank. You could probably get a replacement plug or just leave a plugged tube like you have. I have an aux. tank in my '85 and having that tube connection makes it dead simple to drain the tank, just run the tube down into a gas can and pull the plug and out comes the gas. Otherwise, you have to unscrew the drain plug then hurry and get something underneath to catch the gasoline gushing out.

Thanks for the reply !!!
I filled the car this morning and had fuel spewing out from the top of the tank, not the filler, my guess is that when I removed the 2" lift kit a couple of weeks ago it dislodged something and today was the first time I'd filled it since then.
I brought the car straight home and started to investigate, pulled the bash plate off the tank and saw the pipe, thinking hmmmm that doesn't look right..... Hence posting the question, then I pulled the plastic cover from in the rear wheel arch and saw the split filler neck which confirmed my suspicions about duel fuel tanks.
As I dropped the fuel tank I found the breather hose had split near the tank hence the fuel shower when I filled up.....
So alls good and problem fixed, again thanks guys.
