Smile 22RE fuel injectors

Ok so i got a 88 pickup truck with a 22rec. The injectors in it are black with a thin red plastic shim in them.It seems 88 is the only years to use these. And since i am rebuilding it and going with a performance rv cam. Do i have to use these or are there a better performance injectors. I already have intake and a header for better performance just need to know what other injectors will work. Thanks

I dont know if there are better ones out there, but if you stay stock like I did on my very similar set up, then you should get new ones or have those refurbished.

If you decide to upgrade your injectors, check the impedence. 88 model year was a transition year for the 22re. Early 88 were low impedence injector with a solenoid resistor built into the body harness, later 88 were high impedence injectors without the solenoid resistor.
