Looking to see what everyone is using for roofracks on a 1st gen 4runner to haul 2 kayaks and possibly 2 bikes. Pics please!

 

dragr1; Well of course there is the yakima or similar style mounts for all equipt. Wish I had mine done with the pic , but was behind Kmart and they have racks for stuff and this was shaped very near a basket . cut all the interior mesh on it then got some other rack grid from work , for the bottom and now need to weld or fasten some how .\

Does the Yakima mount on the rain gutters or does it have to be drilled through the removeable portion of the roof?

 

Depending on how far you want to go with something like this I've got a Garvin Wilderness Rack on mine. I did have to drill holes in the top to mount the rails but it was pretty easy and doesn't leak if done properly. I looked on the web site and you can get adapters for the Thule bike holders.
