Where is the sensor for the temperature gauge? My temp gauge isnt going up to normal operating temp and I tried changing the thermostat but nothing changed. So I am going to replace the gauge sensor.

 

down in the valley between the plenum and the head. Beside the head between intake runners 2-3 i believe…

simple spade connector.

 

Its a single wire if you pull the it off the thermister and ground it out your guage should read all the way hot if it does then you know your circuit and guage are good and that it is your thermister that is bad.

 

Here is a link to help. Also while at it, a good idea is to clean the 2 sensors under the intake hose, Cold Start and another sensor, they will probably look the same. I take my radiator out and have it professionally flushed around here for $25. You will be amazed at the stuff that comes out of it. The Preston kits cant get it that clean.

ok thanks for the info. I just recently bought this truck, so I'm trying to get all of the kinks worked out.

 

the sensors below the thermostat housing are:
EFI Temperature sensor. It should be green. The brown one beside it is the Cold Start Time Switch
