kicked it off yesterday. went to put in a new main leaf....found out the hard way that one from an '89 wont fit. Had a buddy run me down a whole stack out of a 87 4 runner....that didnt fit either. SO i have another friend bringing me one from a 79 WILL THS FIT? i havent been able to get the axle pin to line up on the others and am not sure about this one either...anyone know?

Top spring is the 87. middle is the 89 and the broken one is what i took out of it. you can see none of the axle pins are the same...

That seems weird that the 87' 4runner spring is different than your 88' I would have thought that they would have been the same!!!???

What are your plans for this build?

 

well we got it in...turned out the driveshaft was moved back...duh. and i plan to do a lift, nothing crazy but i have some nice 34's for it, than i wanna buy a spare 22re and build it on the side and eventually swap it in. im on a pretty tight budget but just about all of my money will go into the truck...snapped some more pics today after i got it back together
