new to me 85 2wd and questions!

280xxx miles, engine was rebuilt around 200xxx miles. runs nice, its a 4speed which is different for me. the tire blew up on me yesterday though. THE SPARE WORKS THANKFULLY!

i have a question about fitting some ties on there though, i know this has been discussed for 4x4, but i havent found much info on 2wd. it has 235/75/15 now, and as you can see its taking up the wheel well almost entirely. Ive gotten a god price on some used 33in tires.

Ive never seen 33in tires in person, so i dont really know how much bigger they are then the 235s i have now. My question is will these ties, with a moderate amount of lift( 1-2" body lift, add-a-leaf of new rear springs from a 4x4 or compatible chevy, and i bj spacer/torsion bar adjustments) fit on a 2wd truck and be drive able?

Im just looking for street use for right now, its a 2wd and i know that stuffing 33s on car not meant for it doesnt make it an 4x4. These tires are chaper then even the cheapies at my local tire shop, so if i can get them to work then alright
! thank you for help, and have a great day!

I would advise against 33's on a 4 speed truck (those usually have 3.07 gears). 235s are around 28". Stock for a 2wd is about 25" (205 70R14 or 195 75R14). If you want the 33s for looks, you will need a lift. If you are not wheeling it, a body lift and fender trimming is probably the cheapest way to go. Balljoint spacers will not lift the front of a 2wd, so your options are either cranking the torsion bars or lift spindles. In the rear, convert to sprung over or larger shackles is your best bet for cheap lift. I would also swap a 4x4 third member (if you have 3.07s it is an 8 inch rear) for lower gearing.
